The High West whiskey hospitality team at their Park City, Utah tasting room came to our team with a request to create custom hero art for the launch of their ultra-delicious $80 bottle of Rendezvous. Being that this is a limited seasonal release, our team wanted to make artwork that was fully custom and unique for their use each year. 

 

We started with moodboards of illustration styles and color palettes to accompany five thumbnail sketch directions (shown at the bottom of the page). From there, the clients chose this concept and I illustrated 18" x 24" and 11" x 17" posters for print to be displayed and sold at the tasting room. An important part of the ask was for the design to include lots of playful elements and typography that could be broken out and used separately on an array of pieces as part of a larger marketing toolkit for future launch events.

 

I used Procreate for the initial sketching and moved into Photoshop with a Wacom tablet for the final illustration. This was my first experience using a Wacom tablet to create a larger scale high-res illustration. I loved every second of this project and learned so much from the experience!
